Dr. Luis De la Calle is Managing Director and founding partner of De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera (CMM), where he leads the firm’s administration and operations, offering clients his in-depth expertise in economics, regulatory processes, and international trade. He previously served as Undersecretary of International Trade Negotiations at Mexico’s Ministry of Economy, appointed by Presidents Vicente Fox and Ernesto Zedillo. He also served as Minister for Trade Affairs at the Embassy of Mexico in Washington, D.C., where he played a key role in the creation and promotion of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
Dr. De la Calle’s professional background includes experience as a country economist at the World Bank, working with the Czech and Slovak Republics, Poland, and the former Zaire. An active member of several organizations, including the Mexican Council on International Affairs and the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness, he also sits on Aeroméxico’s Board.
Dr. De la Calle holds an Economics degree from ITAM and a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.
