In 2024, we continued our quarter-century long legacy of access and excellence, and we're proud of the impact we've made for not just our thousands of students – but also the millions more that they touch around the globe.
It has been another impactful year at Laureate, marked by significant milestones. We proudly celebrated Laureate’s 25th anniversary while honoring the remarkable legacies of our institutions, some of which have been shaping futures for more than six decades. We continue to build on our previous work, expanding on our mission of providing affordable, high-quality education that prepares students for successful careers and lifelong achievement, while fostering pride, trust, and respect in our communities.
As mentioned in last year’s Impact Report, each year we seek to further improve our approach to impact management, which allows us to evaluate and understand the effectiveness of our efforts in transforming lives and communities. In 2024, our Impact Committee and Academic Quality Committee worked with external subject matter experts to enhance our reporting practices, benchmark against peers, adhere to sustainability reporting standards, improve disclosures, and conduct a double materiality assessment.

Each morning before dawn in Lima, Peru, Naomi Tarazona helped her mother sell breakfast from a street cart – an experience that shaped her determination. Now a first-generation UPN Industrial Design student, she is an award-winning innovator with 14 patents, creating life-changing solutions inspired by her experiences. Her journey proves how resilience and education fuel life-changing innovation.

After a childhood accident left her homebound, UVM medical graduate Karen Hernández discovered her love for science and medicine through home schooling and a toy microscope and telescope. Since then, Karen’s journey has led her to groundbreaking initiatives, including serving as a Crew Scientist in the first analog Mars mission led by Latin American women.
Now, she is dedicated to advancing space medicine and inspiring future generations to push the boundaries of science and exploration.

Across multiple sustainability projects and health clinics in communities, our university students gain hands-on experience while making a tangible, positive difference.
This powerful combination of education and real-world impact creates lasting beneficial effects for both students and the communities they serve.
UPN’s Centro Universitario de Salud (University Health Center) provides free healthcare to residents of Puente Piedra, an underserved community in Lima, while training students as socially conscious health leaders. In 2024, the Center and UPN’s health science students assisted over 8,000 patients in more than 30,000 consultations, offering services in obstetrics, psychology, nutrition, nursing, and physical therapy. The initiative helps strengthen community health and resilience.

Laureate is advancing gender equality through Compass – a women-in-leadership program that builds skills, confidence, and purpose. Now in its third cohort – the program continues to strengthen the pipeline of future leaders. Tairi Rullier, Director of Academic Operations at UPN, helped shape the program and credits it with transforming her leadership – from task-focused to purpose-driven. She hopes Compass becomes a lasting legacy, inspiring inclusive leadership where talent and vision – not gender – define success.
