Gender equality is not just a goal at Laureate – it is a commitment we are actively pursuing. With a focus on equipping women with the skills, confidence, and networks to excel, our customized women-in-leadership program is tailored to align with our culture and support our female leaders. By investing in initiatives like Compass, we are ensuring that more women have the opportunity to grow, lead, and shape the future of our organization.
In 2024, 67 women participated in the program – strengthening gender representation across our network and building a robust pipeline of future leaders.
One person helping drive the program within Laureate is Tairi Rullier, Director of Academic Operations at Universidad Privada del Norte (UPN). As one of the first women at Laureate to undertake the program, Tairi has played a pivotal role in shaping its evolution.
Compass has been a transformative experience for Tairi. “The program has given me a new perspective on leadership – one where my purpose shapes how I lead,” she reflects.
“Beyond shaping my leadership, Compass helped me recognize areas for growth and new perspectives I had not considered before. It challenged the limiting beliefs that had held me back and gave me the confidence to stay true to my purpose.”
The impact of the program extends beyond personal growth – it has reshaped the way Tairi leads her team. “I have shifted from focusing on micro-level results to supporting my team in discovering what drives them. That way, they can channel their energy into what truly creates change,” she explains. “The result is a team that is more aligned, performs better, and works with greater solidarity.”
Looking ahead, Tairi envisions an even greater future for Compass. “I hope the program reaches all our female colleagues and inspires similar programs for our students. I also believe Compass can evolve beyond a women’s leadership program – it can become the foundation for something bigger, where women and men work together to build a society with true equality of opportunity,” Tairi says.
Through initiatives like Compass, Laureate will continue to empower women in leadership – fostering a culture where leadership is defined not by gender, but by talent, vision, and impact.
“My hope is that Compass grows into a lasting legacy at Laureate – one that helps us grow in a way that is inclusive, sustainable, and innovative.”
